Nora Oberschwandner (1981, Austria) is a photographic artist based in Vienna, whose work is situated at the intersection of psychological and socio-critical inquiries. Developing from long-term, research-based projects, she creates photographic works in close collaboration with the people involved. Her practice emerges from direct encounter and is understood as an investigation of perception, relationships, and social context. Photography is not approached as a documentary representation, but as a space of condensation and shift. Her work is concerned with what emerges between individual experience and social structures – without reducing these to fixed or linear narratives.
